Monitor NVRs of Any Brand from One Centre — Multi-Site CCTV
Leave the NVRs of different brands at your branches where they are; watch them live, search their recordings and track their health from one centre.
Retail chains, banks, municipal service buildings, fuel stations and logistics warehouses have bought NVRs of different brands from different suppliers over the years. Each branch NVR lives in its own web interface, with its own username, password and clock. When an incident happens, the central team first has to find which NVR is at which branch, then its password, then that brand's playback screen. EYEXIS unifies these NVRs on a single operations screen without replacing them.
Typical problems of multi-site CCTV
- A separate client or web interface for every brand; operators learn a different screen at every site
- Passwords scattered across branches, people and spreadsheets; nobody can trace who accessed what
- When an NVR disk fails or recording stops, it goes unnoticed for weeks
- NVR clocks drift, making it hard to compare the moment of an incident across sites
- Searching recordings means pulling footage all the way to the centre; bandwidth is not enough
Central monitoring with EYEXIS
Branch NVRs keep recording; EYEXIS brings them together on one monitoring desk, with one permission model and one alarm desk. Your investment in cameras and recorders is protected.
CCTV & video managementCentral monitoring software for mixed-brand NVRs
Brand-independent connection
Hikvision NVRs connect via ISAPI and Dahua NVRs via their HTTP API natively; other brands via ONVIF Profile G. Mixed brands on one screen are not a problem.
Channels arrive automatically
Add the NVR with its address, username and password; the connection is tested first and, if successful, the channels are imported automatically and appear on the monitoring desk.
Low bandwidth over the internet
For NVRs connected over the internet (WAN), live viewing uses the sub-stream, so you can watch dozens of sites at once without saturating branch lines.
Search and play recordings on the NVR
Recording search runs on the NVR; the timeline shows recorded ranges and gaps and the moment you click plays from the NVR. Footage is not moved to the centre in advance.
Stamped clip export
The range you select from an NVR recording is exported as a single MP4; a SHA-256 digest and a server-signed stamp are embedded and the action is written to the audit trail.
NVR health and clock sync
Every NVR is checked once a minute: device info, channel state, disks, clock. Disk failure, missing disk and access denied raise alarms; NVR clocks are synchronised from the centre.
One place for passwords, access by role
NVR credentials are stored once, on the server; operators never see the password. Who can see which site and who can export recordings is set with roles and partitions.
Organised by site
NVRs are grouped by site name; on the monitoring desk you pick a site and open all its channels in one layout.
Optional second recording at the centre
Critical channels (till, entrance, warehouse door) can also be recorded on the central EYEXIS archiver in addition to the NVR, so footage survives even if a branch NVR is stolen or damaged.
Connect your sites in four steps
- Add the NVREnter brand, address (e.g. 85.105.1.2:81), site name, username and password. EYEXIS tests the connection first and adds nothing if it cannot reach the device.
- Channels arriveOnce connected, channels are imported automatically and appear under the site group.
- Watch and searchPick the site on the monitoring desk; watch live, search recordings from the timeline and export a stamped clip if needed.
- Leave health to EYEXISDisks, channels and clock are checked every minute; problems land on the alarm desk.
Three deployment models for your scale
NVRs straight to the centre
Branch NVRs connect to the central EYEXIS server over the internet or VPN. No extra server is needed at the branch.
Remote archiver at the site
At large sites recording stays on site on an EYEXIS remote archiver; the centre manages and plays it back.
Independent systems: federation
Regions with their own EYEXIS server run independently; the centre watches their alarms and cameras through federation.
Details: high availability & federation · network & health monitoring · mobile & remote access
NVR web interfaces vs. EYEXIS
| Topic | Each NVR's own interface | EYEXIS |
|---|---|---|
| Mixed-brand NVRs | A separate client per brand | One monitoring desk |
| Password management | Scattered across sites and people | Stored once on the server; operators never see it |
| Recording search | In each NVR's own screen | On the timeline, one-click playback |
| Disk and recording failures | Silent until noticed | Checked every minute, alarmed |
| Clock drift | Fixed by hand | Synchronised from the centre |
| Evidence clips | Unstamped export | SHA-256 + signed stamp, audit trail |
| Permissions | NVR user accounts | Role and site-based access |
Who uses it?
Retail chains
Till, entrance and warehouse cameras of hundreds of stores from one centre; clips within minutes after a loss incident.
Bank and finance branches
Branch NVR health and recording continuity under control; role-based access that leaves a trail.
Municipalities
Service buildings, parks and facilities with NVRs bought over the years in one command centre.
Fuel and chain businesses
Dispersed stations live with low bandwidth; playback from the NVR when something happens.
Logistics and warehouses
Docks, yards and gates; critical channels recorded a second time at the centre.
Education and healthcare campuses
Recorders of different brands across campuses on one screen.
NVR drivers follow the documented interfaces of Hikvision ISAPI, Dahua HTTP API and ONVIF Profile G. We verify your specific NVR model and firmware with you before installation; for channels whose main stream is H.265, live viewing can use the sub-stream. Integrations
Frequently asked questions
Is it possible to monitor NVRs of different brands in one application?
Yes. EYEXIS connects to Hikvision and Dahua NVRs through their vendor interfaces and to other brands via ONVIF Profile G. All channels appear on the same monitoring desk, grouped by site.
Do we need to replace the NVRs at our branches?
No. NVRs stay where they are and keep recording; EYEXIS connects them to the centre. You start without buying new cameras or recorders.
Do branches need a static IP or port forwarding?
The centre must be able to reach the NVR: a static IP/DDNS with port forwarding, or preferably a site-to-centre VPN. We choose the best option for your network with you before installation.
Can branches with slow internet be monitored?
Yes. For NVRs connected over the internet, live video comes from the sub-stream and recording search runs on the NVR; only the moment you watch is transferred.
Do we have to copy recordings to the centre?
No. Recordings stay on the NVR and are played from there when needed. Optionally you can record only critical channels a second time at the centre.
Will we know if an NVR disk fails?
Yes. Every NVR is checked once a minute; disk failure, missing disk, unreachable device and rejected credentials land on the alarm desk.
Do operators see NVR passwords?
No. Credentials are stored only on the server, once per NVR. What an operator can see and export is set per role and site, and every action is written to the audit trail.
How many sites and NVRs can be connected?
The limit is the camera/channel count in the license; the NVR itself is not counted. Hardware is sized according to the number of channels watched at the same time.
