What does a license define?
Every EYEXIS license has a System ID (EYX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and a password. On activation an RSA-2048 signed key is generated and bound to the server's validation key (a hardware-derived machine ID). The key carries the enabled modules, capacity limits and term. A modified key is rejected by the product.

Maintenance & upgrade plan
During the plan you can download all releases and plug-in versions published in that period. When the plan ends your software keeps working; only releases published after the end date are locked. Renew the plan through your partner.

Activation in four steps
- InstallInstall the setup package or the demo version.
- Get your System ID and passwordThey are on your license certificate, provided by your partner or EYEXIS.
- Activate onlineIf the server has internet access: Server Admin → License → Activate via web; enter the System ID and password. The software fetches the license itself.
- or offlineWithout internet: sign in to the portal with the System ID and password, enter the server's validation key (or upload the request file), download license.lic and load it in Server Admin → License → Manual.
Frequently asked questions
Which machine is a license bound to?
When activated, a license is bound to the server's validation key (a hardware-derived machine ID). The license itself is identified by its System ID and password, which are on your license certificate.
What if I replace my server?
Every license includes transfer rights. Re-activating with the System ID and password on the new server (online or via the portal) moves the license to the new machine; if no transfers remain, a request is automatically sent for approval.
What does the maintenance & upgrade plan cover?
During the plan you can download every release and plug-in version published in that period from the portal. When the plan ends your software keeps working; only releases published after the end date are locked.
How do I activate systems without internet access?
A server with internet access activates itself in Server Admin → License with the System ID and password. On an offline server, copy the validation key or export the activation request file from the same screen, sign in to the portal from any computer, download license.lic and load it on the server.
Can I add modules later?
Yes. Send an upgrade request from the portal; once approved, a key with the new rights is prepared for the same System ID. Just press Activate via web again in the software — no reinstallation required.
